Your Role

Do you want to be part of developing the production systems of the future? The area of Industrialization works with the industrialization of flying products both internally and externally. We are now looking for a creative, innovative, and goal-oriented engineer who wants to take overall production technical responsibility for how we will industrialize the next generation of combat aircraft systems. You will operate within the Fighter Production organization, which is responsible for the industrialization and manufacturing of future combat aircraft systems. The execution of assignments will require effective design and production solutions through development in short iterative cycles. This work needs to be characterized by the ability for innovation and creativity. A vibrant demonstration activity where, among other things, rapid prototyping is a central capability in this whole.

You will belong to the OpEx section that operates within the area of Industrialization. Within Industrialization, there are personnel with many years of experience in the industrialization of both civilian and military flying products. The area is responsible for providing resources with the right skills to realize a concept into a finished product.

Your task will be to lead the production technical work and ensure that we create the conditions to take a design from idea to a real product. You will act cross-functionally and work with a team of dedicated engineers from multiple organizations where you will together need to develop simple solutions to quickly move through the production flow. You will be driving to ensure that we have the conditions to establish a production system both for demonstration capability and upcoming prototypes & platforms. The overall operation will be carried out in parallel tracks with a long-term strategic vision within Fighter Production.

A suitable background is a master's degree in engineering or equivalent with broad experience from production technical work within several technology domains. Experience in leadership and project management, preferably from advanced industrialization projects, as well as professional experience from an international environment is advantageous.

English is the corporate language, but some documentation in Swedish occurs, and therefore both English and Swedish should be well mastered, both orally and in writing.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, require certain citizenship.

The OpEx section within the area of Industrialization is newly established and is part of the Fighter Production organization within Saab Aeronautics. The area contains several functions and roles such as Business Developers, Change Leaders, Production Technical Chief Engineers, BI, and Digitalization Managers who work broadly with improvement work, future methods, technology plans, etc. The section currently has about 8 employees and will grow over the coming year. The Industrialization operation employs about 300 people and leads and develops the industrialization of Gripen and future aircraft systems.
